I have 10 cd's of various live board tapes. Some acoustic, some with band and some from radio stations. Quality varies, but I'd be glad to burn them for you if you're interested?

Looks like we have more in common than cane. You should definately add theses to the "mountains" list (links provided to make it easy to listen to samples of the music, I'm not suggesting you buy from Amazon): Absolutely timeless: Gillian Welsh and David Rawlins - First listen will most likely not grab you but the more you listen, the more you hear and these will become favorites for mountain driving. You can't go wrong with any of these, but if you want to pick one or two to begin with, get "Revival" or "Hell Among the Yearlings." Old Time: Reeltime Travelers - "Livin Reeltime Thinkin Old-Time" . I just saw these guys at a festival and fell in love with Martha's vocals. Left me in a puddle on the floor. Listen to "Little Bird" and "Higher Rock." These guys did some of the stuff on the COLD MOUNTAIN soundrack. Any of you celtic fans like Liz Carroll? If you haven't heard her, this is slightly "Americanized" but mostly original music with an absolute POWERHOUSE of an Irish guitarist by the name of John Doyle. I'm a bluegrass guy, but John is one of my favorite rhythm players. Just incredible. Two especially are standouts - "Lake Effect" and "Lost in the Loop." - Uni

Uni,
Thanks for the tips on the sounds. It looks like I'll be adding to my "mountain music" stash. Greg |
